The 3rd Taiwan International Queer Film Festival (TIQFF) is taking place from October 22 to October 30 in Taipei. This year’s festival consists of film screenings, several panel discussions and the first ever Queermosa Awards. The award ceremony will take place on the eve of Pride Taipei, the biggest Pride in Asia, to celebrate people who have contributed to the LGBT community and their works.
TIQFF 3 x Berlinale TEDDY 30
With the success and experience received from the previous two editions, Taiwan is honored to present the 3rd edition of Taiwan International Queer Film Festival with the theme “Let’s Connect!”. The festival will be strongly connected to Berlin International Film Festival’s Teddy Awards with the screening of several Teddy Award winning films and also some of the most fascinating, thought-provoking and tantalizing LGBT films and shorts from around the world.
The 1st Queermosa Awards
We are also very proud to host Taiwan’s first Queermosa Awards where LGBT/human rights activists, public figures and media correspondents are rewarded with a Queermosa Award for their bravery, vision and endless support to Taiwan’s LGBT community. With their voices heard by thousands of followers and supporters, LGBT rights are no longer just social issues concerning a limited group of people, they are human rights and social issues deserving attention from every member of the society. The 1st annual Queermosa Awards takes Taiwan International Film Festival beyond the purpose of entertainment and art appreciation to social participation and public awareness.
Launching online streaming platform GagaooLala
Last but not least, TIQFF is also excited to announce the launch of its online streaming service “GagaooLala” where subscribers will have access to thousands of LGBT films and shorts. By providing the service, TIQFF expands its platform to reach audience from all corners of the world. Subscribers can submerge themselves in LGBT stories without leaving their homes, without having to worry about scheduling conflicts or awkward run-ins at the theater. TIQFF believes these stories need to be seen, heard, and understood and everyone who’s interested deserves the access.
TIQFF welcomes all to come and enjoy this Festival where diversity and inclusion is celebrated.
